MENA Blockchain Week 2026, May 22, Day 5 Recap: Real Assets, Real Institutions, Real Infrastructure

Dubai, UAE. One City. One Week. One Nation.

Day 5 of MENA Blockchain Week 2026, May 22, was the day the industry stopped talking about what tokenization could be and started accounting for what it already is. From a closed-door stablecoin conference at DMCC to fireside chats on the founder journey, from the hardest questions about institutional RWA demand to the most human tradition in crypto — Day 5 covered the full spectrum of where this industry stands in 2026.

Here is everything that happened.

MESA x DMCC x Dubai Digital Asset Association (D2A2) Stablecoin Conference

The day opened at the DMCC Crypto Centre, Uptown Tower — the UAE's leading hub for crypto businesses and home to some of the region's most consequential Web3 conversations. A closed-door, by-invitation 4-hour conference hosted by the Middle East Stablecoin Association, DMCC Crypto Centre, and the Dubai Digital Asset Association, bringing together the issuers, bankers, lawyers, technologists, and exchange operators actually moving stablecoin adoption forward in the MENA region.

The agenda went deep across six panels and a fireside chat. D2A2 and MESA opened on sovereignty, settlement and strategic positioning. Zodia Markets and AD Ports tackled stablecoins as live treasury infrastructure. Fasset, RAKBank, and Zand went straight at what banks actually need before they engage. FinEthica Advisory held a fireside on AML risk ownership — one of the sharpest conversations of the week. CMS and Karm Legal addressed the legal status of stablecoins and what risk management looks like in practice.

Aquanow and Polygon mapped what stablecoin rails are actually live today. BurjX and Binance closed on what exchanges need from issuers before real market making can happen. Ledger and YAP Global were also in the room.

Four hours. Seven sessions. The room that shapes the next decade of MENA stablecoin infrastructure.

RWA and Tokenization Meetup

Panel 1: From Vault to Chain — Real-World Asset Tokenization and the Rise of On-Chain Finance

Jorge Carrasco, Managing Director, Blockchain and Digital Assets at FTI Consulting, opened with a keynote that reframed how the room thinks about tokenization. Not as a future state, but as an operational reality already underway.

Thought leaders shaping the conversation:

Areeb Ahmad, Senior Associate, TLP Advisors

Jorge Carrasco, Managing Director, Blockchain and Digital Assets, FTI Consulting

Panel 2: Beyond the Buzz — Is There Real Institutional Demand for RWAs?

Jad Kachmar, Head of Operations, PRYPCO

Thought leaders shaping the conversation:

Anton Golub, Founding Member, RWA Tokenization

Sebastian Agren, COO, Tribe

Fireside Chat: The Founder's Guide to Investment

Bally Singh and CJ Anand closed the afternoon with the session founders in the room needed most. Raising capital is not a pitch. It is a relationship built before you ever need the money.

Balbinder Singh, Principal, Santos Family Office

CJ Anand, Director of Advisory, Ghaf Labs

Evening: Bitcoin Pizza Day Meetup

Day 5 ended the way it had to.

The Bitcoin Pizza Day Meetup brought the Web3 community together at Hadron Founders Club for an evening with no agenda, no panels, and no pitch decks. Opening Remarks by Mohamad Alhusseini (MoeX) and Saed Ereiqat set the tone. Then it was just community. Good conversations. Good energy. Actual pizza.

Thought leaders shaping the conversation:

Mohamad Alhusseini, MoeX, Founder and Director, SNXS.ae — ex Binance

Saed Ereiqat, Director, Hadron Founders Club

The Through-Line of Day 5

The MENA region is not waiting for stablecoin infrastructure to arrive. It is building it.

Every session on Day 5 pointed to the same reality. The assets are real. The institutions are ready. And the infrastructure being assembled in Dubai right now will define how digital finance works across the region for the next decade. The people in that room are the ones building it.
